New Business Tax Receipt

I'm a new business. What do I need to get my Edgewood Business Tax Receipt? 

1. Confirm the planned business is within the City of Edgewood limits. http://www.ocpafl.org/

2. Complete the Edgewood New Business Tax Receipt Application

3. If you are in a business that requires a license from any Division of the State, you must obtain your State license before applying for your City of Edgewood Business Tax Receipt.

4. Provide proof of status as an LLC/corporation and proof of fictitious name (if applicable)

5. Complete an Orange County Use Permit application.

  • A use permit is required for a change of tenant or owner of a commercial building or tenant space. A change of occupancy classification of a building or tenant space as defined by the Florida Building Code will require the building or space to comply with the current codes, including the Florida Accessibility Code.

6. Submit both of these documents to Edgewood City Hall, either in person or via email at info@edgewood-fl.gov. Staff will review the business type and zoning to determine if it is an allowable use at that location.

7. Upon zoning approval, you will make payment for the current fiscal year ($98.12 or $39.69).

8. Immediately after zoning approval from the City of Edgewood, follow the instructions provided by City Staff to apply for your Use Permit and schedule inspections.
