The City’s law enforcement needs are provided by the Edgewood Police Department, a full-service police agency. The responsibilities of the Police Department are to protect the lives and property of the citizens of Edgewood. Duties range from routine patrols to criminal investigations.

The Police Department also provides vacation checks for residences and security inspections of homes and businesses. The Department will assist residents in establishing and maintaining neighborhood watch programs.

Interested residents of the City of Edgewood or students currently enrolled in a local police academy who would like to ride with an Edgewood patrol unit as an observer can do so.
